Shunsuke MANAGI Distinguished Professor of Technology and Policy Director of Urban Institute Shunsuke Managi is the Distinguished Professor of Technology and Policy & Director of Urban Institute at the Kyushu University, Japan. He has been a director for Inclusive Wealth Report 2018 (IWR 2018) and IWR2023, ISC working group member for UN’ The Global Sustainable Development Report 2023, member of UN Network of Economic Statisticians - Round Table on Measuring Capitals for Sustainability, a lead author for the IPCC, a coordinating lead author for the IPBES, a coordinating lead author UNESCO International Science and Evidence based Education Assessment, lead author of Policy Briefs T20 for the Presidency of G20 in 2022 & 2023, an editor of “Economics of Disasters and Climate Change”, “Environmental Economics and Policy Studies”, and is the author of "Technology, Natural Resources and Economic Growth: Improving the Environment for a Greener Future" and editor of "The Routledge Handbook of Environmental Economics in Asia". He is the co-chair the Scientific Committee of the 2018 World Congress of Environmental and Resource Economists. He was the recipient of a JSPS Prize and council member of The Science Council of Japan. |

Jun TANIMOTO Director & Vice President, Kyushu University After graduating from the master's course at the Graduate School of Science, Waseda University, he worked as an assistant at the School of Engineering, Tokyo Metropolitan University, and has been working at Kyushu University since 1995. He has been the Dean of the Graduate School of Science and Engineering since 2023 and has been a director and Vice President of Kyushu University since 2024. He specializes in social physics based on applied mathematical science, evolutionary game theory, and nonlinear dynamics of complex systems. He aims to incorporate the above into modeling of human-environment-society systems. He is a visiting professor at the Renewable Energy Laboratory in the United States, the University of South Wales in Australia, Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands, and the Max Planck Institute in Germany. He has written many specialized books, including Sociophysics Approach to Epidemics (Springer). He is also active as a novelist and painter. |

Ashir AHMED Associate Professor, Faculty of Information Science and Electrical Engineering Director, Global Communication Center, Grameen Communications, Bangladesh Representative Director of the Social Business Academia Network, Japan Chapter After receiving Ph.D. on Information Science from Tohoku University in 1999, Dr. Ahmed joined Avaya Labs (former Bell Labs), NTT Communications to develop and standardize next generation communication technologies. He left industry with the hope to devote himself more on social cause driven technology development. He established Global Communication Center (GCC) within Grameen Group and at the same time joined Kyushu University as a Research Super Star to develop technologies for the unreached communities. Prof. Yunus and Prof. Yasuura (Kyushu University) are the source of his motivation. |

Toshio OHNISHI Dean of the Faculty of Economics Dr. Toshio Ohnishi graduated from the University of Tokyo in 1993. He finished his master’s course at the Graduate School of Tsukuba University in 2000 while working with Sumitomo Marine and Fire Insurance Company, Limited from 1995 until 2000. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from the Graduate University for Advanced Studies (SOKENDAI) in 2003. His major is statistical science. He began working with Faculty of Economics, Kyushu University in 2010 after serving as an assistant professor at the Institute of Statistical Mathematics. He became a professor in 2015 and the Head of the department of Economic Engineering. After serving as the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics, he was appointed as the Dean of the Faculty of Economics in 2024. He is a member of the Japan Statistical Society and the Japanese Society of Applied Statistics. |

Kunio ARAYA Vice President Dean of the School of Interdisciplinary Science and Innovation Kunio Araya completed the Graduate School of Science(Ph.D. (Science)), Kyoto University. After working as an assistant at Kyoto University (Graduate School of Human and Environmental Studies), he started working at Kyushu University (Faculty of Comparative Social and Cultural Studies) in October 2002, and has been in his current position since 2010. From 2021, he has been a distinguished professor at Kyushu University, and from October 2024 he has been a dean of the School of Interdisciplinary Science and Innovation. He specializes in entomology and biodiversity. Member of the Regional Science Committee for World Natural Heritage Sites of Amami Oshima, Tokunoshima, Northern Okinawa Island and Iriomote Island (Ministry of the Environment); Member of the Specified Alien Species Taxon Expert Group Meeting (Insects); Selection and evaluation of endangered wildlife. He serves as a member of the Society's Insect Subcommittee and is committed to biodiversity conservation activities. |

Takahiro KUSAKABE Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Director of the Insect Science and Creative Entomology Center, Faculty of Agriculture Graduated from Kyushu University Faculty of Agriculture in 1988. After completing his master's course, he worked at Meiji Dairies Corporation, Saga Medical University, and Harvard University. In 1997, he was appointed as an assistant professor at Kyushu University Faculty of Agriculture. In 2011, he became a professor at the Faculty of Agriculture. He has been the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture since 2025. He specializes in insect genome science and is also involved in the development of recombinant protein vaccines using insect factories. |

Makoto YOKOO Distinguished Professor Dean of Faculty and Graduate School of Information Science and Electrical Engineering Makoto Yokoo received his B.E. and M.E. degrees in electrical engineering, in 1984 and 1986, respectively, from the University of Tokyo, Japan, and his Ph.D. degree in information and communication engineering in 1995 from the University of Tokyo, Japan. From 1986 to 2004, he was a research scientist at Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT). He is currently a Distinguished Professor of Faculty of Information Science and Electrical Engineering (ISEE), Kyushu University. He also serves as the dean of ISEE from 2024. |
