November 24th, 2017: Professor Yunus made a keynote lecture at Science Agora

Science Agora 2017 took place in Odainba, Tokyo from November 24th to 26th. Various people in different fields, sectors, generations, and nationalities aimed to realize “science harmonized with society” and a “society harmonized with science” through dialogue and collaboration while respecting a diversity of values.

Kyushu university designed software and hardware as well as worked on other projects for the forum. Professor Muhammad Yunus made a keynote lecture about his vision of a world of three zeros- zero poverty, zero unemployment and zero net carbon emission. He sent a message to us that by combining the power of “technology”, “youth”, “good governance” and “social business”, we can make it all happen.

Dr. Dwikorita Karnawati, former president of Gadjah Mada University (Indonesia), addressed the problem of natural disasters that were becoming increasingly serious for residents of her country. In cooperation with students and faculty members, she actively advocated for collaboration between local communities and created new disaster countermeasures through the establishment of an early warning system for landslides.
